SPELL DISK is a top-down action roguelike game where player controls a sorceress who must defeat horde of enemies and escape the dungeon using her ability to craft spells and items that synergize together.

ABOUT THE GAME

While playing many roguelike games, I found that the most satisfying part of the game was when a synergy was discovered between two items or powers. For instance, a power would let me cast an ice spear whenever I dealt a critical strike against foes. I enjoyed that part of the game most, and I felt that I needed more. So, I built the game entirely centered around that concept of building synergy.

In Spell Disk, players can craft three types of item: Spells, artifacts, and disk. Disk, as suggested from the title, is the synergy-enabler of the game. First, disks can be linked to spells. Then, disks can cast its linked spell when the disk's requirements are met. For instance, you could have a disk that requires you to create fire-type spells. Whenever you create fire spells, the disk will cast the spell for you. Combine this with a multitude of other disks, you can create limitless synergies to let you chain your spells.

One of our early players pointed out that this synergy building mechanic is "like programming a wizard!" According to player feedback, it was like building your own Path of Exile character on Hades-like combat each run!
